FAQs

What is the return policy?

Our policy lasts 30 days and covers items that arrive which are defective. If 30 days have gone by since your item has arrived, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the shippers address, as we might ship it to a different one of our warehouses than it was sent from.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

What are the shipping options?

We are proud to offer free shipping. Shipping time estimates can be found on our shipping information page.

What are the international taxes, duties, etc. that I have to pay?

Although very rare, if your package get's randomly inspected for additional inspection, a small customs fee might be requested by your local mail carrier for your package. The Thrifty Photographer is not responsible for covering any customs fee that may arise.

What do I do if I never received my order?

Please contact us! Allow up to 3 weeks to go by before doing so, as delays do occur at times. A solution will be provided in a case-by-case basis.

How do I make changes to an order I’ve already placed?

Orders can only be changed or cancelled before you receive a notification that the order ships. If your order has shipped out, and you would like to make a change contact us. Our processing time is 1-3 days, so if an order must be changed, aim to do it in this time frame.

Where are you located?

The Thrifty Photographer is an online store based out of Canada. We have a warehouse in the United States, as well as one in China. The warehouse your parcel will be shipped from will be determined by product stock at each warehouses, shipping costs, shipping times, and a few other factors. Shipping times are the same from both warehouses.

How do you guys source products for lower prices than I can find elsewhere?

At The Thrifty Photographer, we work daily on finding the absolute lowest prices for sourcing our products, so these savings can be passed down to you, the buyer. Each product is inspected and tested extensively, before we offer them, so we are confident in the quality of the products being sold. Another way we can bring down the prices so much, is getting bulk shipments directly from the factory, to our warehouse then right to the consumer. Gear from other stores can go through as many as 6 middle-men before reaching the stores shelf. Each of these middle-men wants a cut of the profit, which means the price increases for you. By shipping directly from factory, to our warehouses, then to the buyer, we are able to offer significantly lower prices.

How do I contact your company if my question isn’t answered here?
